Naalinya, The Princess Royal

A princess who is called Naalinya is one who escorts the Kabaka during coronation and one who is a custodian of the royal tomb.

Princess Damalie Nkinzi, a sister to Muteesa I became the first princess to be called the title of Naalinya because of her slow behaviour.

Am proud of all this naalinyas but very disappointed to know that am from a royal family but my father just decided not to recognize that and left us to be brought up by my mother who is a Kenyan and now we are in Kenya not knowing our roots its very very bad fathers take up your positions in the society. This is a great kingdom

    • Dear Khadija,
      ‘Naalinya’ is not a name, but rather a title in our family. There are however some other tribes in uganda, and probably Kenya that use this as a name. We are however happy to hear that you consider our kingdom a great one.
