Kabaka Kimbugwe Kamegere

16xx – 1644 Kabaka Kimbugwe Kamegere, Kabaka of Buganda. b. at Kongoje, after 1614, youngest son of Kabaka Suna I Kisolo, Kabaka of Buganda, by his second wife, Nalugwa. Succeeded on the death of his cousin. Established his capital at Bugwanya. m. (first) Nakamyuka, daughter of Mukusu, of the Mpindi clan. m. (second) Nakunja, daughter of Sekayiba, of the Mbogo clan. m. (third) Abakyala Nabuso, the Naabagareka, widow of his predecessor, Kabaka Sekamanya Kisolo, Kabaka of Buganda, and daughter of Gunju, of the Butiko clan. He was k. (by witchcraft) by his step-son, Prince Katerega, ca. 1644 (bur. Merera), having had issue, two sons:

  • 1) Prince (Omulangira) Kamyuka (s/o Nakamyuka).
  • 2) Prince (Omulangira) Baleke (s/o Nakamyuka).
